60mm Achromatic Telescope Making Kit

The kit offered includes a high-quality set of components designed for optimal stargazing experiences. It consists of a 60mm Diameter Achromatic Objective lens with an approximate focal length of 700mm. To enhance your viewing, a finely polished 1.25″ standard eyepiece is included, providing a magnification of 28x. Additionally, a 90-degree mirror diagonal is provided for comfortable observations of the night sky.

The kit comprises various plastic hardware and lenses, with the exception of two PVC tubes which can be conveniently obtained from a local hardware company. The key components of the kit are as follows:

• Achromatic lens: Featuring a 60mm diameter and a focal length of 700mm.
• Tube Ring: Designed specifically for securing the telescope tube.
• Astro Eyepiece: An ultra-wide 25mm eyepiece compatible with 1.25″ standard fittings.
• Lens Holder: A lens cell used for securely holding the lenses.
• Glare/Field Aperture Stop: Measuring 63mm, this stop helps reduce glare in the 63mm tube.
• Step Down Adapter: Facilitates the transition from a 50mm to 32mm diameter.
• Focuser Stopper: A 32mm stopper utilized for the 32mm tube’s focuser.
• Glare Aperture Stop: Assists in minimizing glare in the 32mm tube.
• Coupler: A 32mm to 32mm coupling device.
• Star Diagonal: A standard 1.25″ diagonal for improved viewing.

To complete the setup, you will need to purchase a rigid PVC tube from a local market. We recommend the following specifications:

• 63mm diameter rigid PVC Pipe: With a pressure rating of 4 Kg, a length of approximately 22 to 24 inches.
• 32mm diameter rigid PVC pipe: Capable of withstanding 10 Kg of pressure, with a length of 10 to 12 inches.

With the 60mm refractor telescope, you can expect to observe a range of celestial objects, including:

• Binary stars with angular separations exceeding 2″, such as Albireo and Mizar.
• Faint stars up to a magnitude of 10.
• Sunspots (with the use of an aperture filter).
• Phases of Venus.
• Lunar craters.
• Jupiter and its four moons.

• Uranus and Neptune, appearing like stars.
• Large globular clusters like M13, as well as open clusters.
• Most of the Messier bright objects, although not in intricate detail.
